Safer delivery with the new electricity meter

Our – and your – new electricity meter is called OMNIA eMeter and is delivered by Kamstrup. It will increase the amount of reading data and the number of parameters that we measure in addition to your electricity consumption. 

OMNIA e-Meter is well prepared for metering production, something that is necessary if you, for instance, install solar panels. We will also measure voltage in the mains power source, which will give us the prerequisites to be more proactive and sort out faults before they affect you as a customer. 

Customer interface 

The biggest change when switching to OMNIA eMeter is that it has an open interface, a customer port, also called Home Area Network (HAN). The customer interface is based on the Dutch standard DSMR with a RJ12 switch and it complies with the business recommendations as stated by Swedenergy (Energiföretagen Sverige). 

The upside with an open customer interface is that your electricity meter registers more data than just your consumption, something that you gain access to when connecting with the customer interface. It enables you to follow and analyse your electricity consumption. With hardware that you connect with the customer interface, you could, for example, direct the heating of your property or the charging of an electric car. 

If you would like to purchase hardware from a service provider in order to connect with the installed OMNIA eMeter, please keep in mind that it should comply with the standard that our electricity meters are based on. It is advisable to be attentive to that certain electricity grid suppliers have chosen a different standard, one that is developed for the Norwegian market where the HAN-port has a RJ45 switch, and that certain hardware is developed to suit exactly that version.
